About the AGHS Band

The Avon Grove High School Marching Band has established a long and storied tradition of parade success.  This year’s band includes 101 instrumentalists and guard members.  As the 2009 Fall Season begins, the band is coming off of their finest 5-year stretch ever.  The Marching Red Devils secured top honors in every parade in which they participated in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.  These include the Solanco Fair Parade, the Ephrata Fair Parade, the New Holland Spectacle of Bands Parade and the Baltimore (MD) Columbus Day Parade.  They were featured as the Honor Band in the 2006 and 2008 New Holland Parade. The band has participated in the Indy 500 Festival and Pre-race Pageant on three occasions (1995, 1999, 2007).  Over the years, the band has also traveled to Boston (MA), Toronto (ONT), Myrtle Beach (SC), Cleveland (OH) and Norfolk/Virginia Beach (VA).  The band has performed pre-game shows for both the Philadelphia Phillies and the Cleveland Indians.  The band was a longtime participant, and multiple award winner at the Miss America Parade on the boardwalk in Atlantic City (NJ) before that event was relocated.
