Mrs. Persons received her B.S. Degree in Music Education from West Chester University where she is currently earning her Masters Degree.

The string program in the Avon Grove School District began in 2003 under her direction. She has led the Avon Grove Intermediate School sixth grade string students, the Fred S. Engle Middle School String Orchestra, and the Avon Grove High School String Orchestra in performances at High Note Festivals and Music in the Parks adjudications where these groups have received ratings of "Excellent" or have placed first.

Mrs. Persons plays the violin in a string quartet called the Shaw Strings, in the Chester County Pops Orchestra, and in her church orchestra playing double bass.
